The fallow deer in Beqaa Valley

This is how the Beqaa Valley, on the western side of the Shouf Biosphere Reserve, looks today. It has been slowing heavily in the past weeks and the Shouf is under a thick blanket of snow. This fallow deer (Dama dama) lives in the fenced area that hopefully will soon host a herd of Nubian Ibex coming from Jordan, which will be eventually released in the Reserve.
